So ungefähr um das Jahr 1990 – geboren und aufgewachsen in Italien – bekam ich den Namen Lorenzo.

Im Alter von 18 Jahren dürstete es mich nach Abenteuer und Entdeckungen. Ein schockierendes Erlebnis im australischen Korallenriff überzeugte mich vom Wert eines Universitätsabschlusses sowie das unserer Mutter Erde kein Irrweg ist und so entschied ich mich für die Naturwissenschaft. Nach dem Abschluss startete ich eine Radtour durch Europa ohne ein bestimmtes Ziel und bei der ich nie wusste wohin es mich jeweils führte. An einem eisigen Sonnentag Ende November kam ich – mit verschiedenen Ideen und Träumen im Gepäck – in der Schweiz an. Das Leben kann ziemlich überraschend sein, wenn man es ohne grossen Widerstand zulässt.

Während einem dreimonatigen humanitären Projekt in Ostafrika wuchs in mir die Freude am Helfen und die Gewissheit, dass das glücklich macht. Durch dieses neue Gefühl angezogen, klopfte – vor einiger Zeit – Ayurveda an meine Tür, welche meine Liebe für eine natürliche Lebensweise und Heilung teilt. Sie stärkt auch mein – seit langem bestehendes – Vertrauen in die Spiritualität und die Absicht meinen Brüdern und Schwestern zu helfen sowie diesen schönen und zerbrechlichen Planeten zu schützen.

Was ich aber nicht erwarten konnte, war, ein so tiefes Verständnis des Lebens zu finden, Weisheit, die manchmal so subtil klingt, dass sie unlogisch oder auf den ersten Blick gar nicht spürbar ist. Die Bedeutungsebenen entfalten sich, wenn sich das Studium vertieft. Aber ich denke, es ist eine gemeinsame Erfahrung für jeden, der tief in etwas Wertvolles eintaucht.

Here I am, Lorenzo I was called, always felt comfortable with this name (still wandering if it would have been the same with Mario or Giuseppe), around thirty years of age, born and raised in Italy, escaped from it at the age of 18 thirsty of adventure and discovery.

Later on, a day diving in the Australian coral reef shocked me enough to convince me that if there was something worth studying in university, this was definately Mother Earth and it's wanders. So I enrolled into a course in Natural Sciences. After graduation I embarked on a bike journey around Europe. Could never guess where it would take me.

On a freezing sunny day of late November I arrived in Switzerland. It was some years ago. I am still here, with different ideas and dreams though. Life can be pretty surprising if you allow it to happen without much resistance.

Ayurveda has knocked at my door some time ago, when after having spent 3 month in East Africa working on some humanitarian projects, I was looking for something to do in life which would give me the possibility to be of help and service, something I considered necessary to live happily.

Ayurveda put together my love for natural ways of living, and as well of healing, my long established trust in spirituality and meditation and this intention to help my brothers and sisters, as well as this beautiful, strong but also fragile planet that we are nowadays so uncontiously and ungratefoully threatening.

But what I could not expect was to find such a deep understanding of Life, wisdom sometimes so subtle to sound illogical, or not even noticeable at first. Levels of meaning unfolding as the study deepens. But I guess it is a common experience for whomever goes deep into something valuable.
